Heather and the Monkey King have been thrilling audiences, turning heads, and catching music-lovers’ ears since 2002 with their “Prima-style swing and jazz.” Heather’s sultry vocals and the Monkey King’s blues-influenced jazz guitar stylings create a musical cocktail party, complete with jazz standards, swing, early rock and roll, and 80s pop tunes performed in their own unique “jazzabilly” style. Heather has an effortless performance style that captures the essence of female vocalists of the 40s and 50s. The Monkey King’s masterful guitar is reminiscent of jazz combo greats such as Les Paul, Barney Kessell, and Mickey Baker.

Originally performing in such swanky venues as Cobalt (Hotel Monaco), The Red Room, and The Bombay Club, the band now provides one-of-a-kind entertainment for corporate parties, weddings, VIP functions, conventions, and a variety of other private events. Heather and the Monkey King have performed at venues such as Harrah’s, Beau Rivage, Arnaud’s, the House of Blues, Loew’s New Orleans, Bourbon Orleans, the Sugar Bowl festivities, Mississippi's Roots Reunion Radio Show, and the Whitney Zoo-to-Do. The group has entertained clients such as British Petroleum, Louis Vuitton, NOAA, Entergy, Where Magazine, and Mary Kay. They often add other top-flight musicians to provide a trio, quartet, quintet, or “Little Big Band,” as the venue requires.
